Hello everyone,

we would like to send out our tender for the electrical work within the next two weeks. Unfortunately, we are not very familiar with this, so my question is, which things do you definitely not want to miss?
Things we definitely want to implement:
- enough power outlets (approx. 45 per floor)
- switchable outlets for floor lamps
- individual lamps and spots dimmable
- outlets on the exterior facade for the terrace
- lay an outlet in the garden
- provide electricity to the driveway

Questions:
- is it possible to switch on several lights with one switch? I imagine that we can use a button to turn on ambient lighting across several lamps
- roller shutter / venetian blind control, how can this be implemented cheaply?
- presence detector, is KNX necessary for this?

What are we not aware of that is nowadays an absolute must-have?

Looking forward to your ideas

Best regards

Of course you can control multiple light sources with one push button

With an open bus system, or various proprietary solutions

No, presence detectors are available for most systems and also conventional ones.

What might additionally be considered at first glance:

- reveal sockets / sockets near the windows
- two-way switches
- central off
- sockets for projectors etc., i.e. media stuff
- LAN
- possibly eaves / facade / path lighting
- switchable socket for towel radiator

High-voltage power supply to the garage/carport for a future charging station.

Possibly mentioned "media stuff" in the living room, e.g. speaker cables in the wall. I personally crossed out projector preparation, OLED is just beginning to take off and is reaching similar sizes, already offering better quality. I don't believe in projectors in the living room in the future but everyone has to decide for themselves. Likewise, sockets in the window reveal. They don't look nice and modern decor things have LED = battery.

I installed two sockets per wall/corner in each room; in the living room as well as the kitchen there are 3, or simply plenty in the kitchen.

So far, I am satisfied with the system. What I also think is good is if you plan from the start that you might want to make sockets switchable later, meaning laying one extra conductor in the empty conduit.
If you skip empty conduits, I would definitely pull in two extra conductors. You never know if you might need them later.

I would also install cable ducts/empty conduits for a possible future photovoltaic system on the roof at the same time.

I find a LAN connection on each floor useful. But I do not think every room needs a LAN connection. For me, Wi-Fi is completely sufficient.

I would install satellite or TV connections in every room.

If you prepare with enough cables for the rooms, double toggle switches or other gimmicks will not be a problem later. So you don’t have to know from the start how you want to switch what. Nobody knows anyway what they suddenly "need" in 5 years.

I would consider a terrace or balcony as a "room" and plan switches and sockets accordingly.
Later, you suddenly want a fan and a radio and maybe an electric grill and a string of lights and so on and so forth.
