Let's see, maybe I can still convince my wife. The central switch for the kitchen / dining / living area is a good tip! I'm curious what the electrician will say about the costs. We don't have many more sockets than described - just significantly more light switches :D

Living / dining .. definitely a sliding door, if any door at all. It can run in the dining area. And dining/hallway can run in the hallway. And, motion sensors in the hallway are great, because the light goes off again when no one is there. Especially children or visitors can otherwise be careless at times.

We have them too. But I also really appreciate the additional switch that allows me to keep the light on permanently. Especially in winter when there is a lot of visitors, otherwise the motion detector "runs dry" and breaks. Normally everything is motion detector controlled, and with many visitors the light is permanently on via switch.

Do you have examples of sliding partition doors that look reasonably good?

How to "look halfway good"? They practically always look the same - wall/ceiling rail and then a glass/wood door slides along it.

We have planned a double-wing (2 x 100 cm x 230 cm height) - in glass (transparent or dark-tinted is still open).

One should possibly "accentuate" it accordingly, so that it becomes a focal point in front of the walls.

In post 32, our sliding door between the dining room and the [Küche] can be seen.
