Elaborately handmade bathroom cabinet

The design is somewhat bold. The handles do not match the hinges, and in my opinion, the curved cutouts definitely do not. I would find handles of the same size better. On the other hand, I find the craftsmanship very well done.

The "not matching" is one of the things I care less and less about in my designer life. When I design something, I take the design elements that I like best. Whether they had anything to do with each other historically, I don't care, ... what fits technically and materially is far more important to me. This creates something that I like, which is often compared to "steampunk" ...

From a design perspective, the design also lives from contrast ;) Take something old and add something new, cold metal fits with warming fabric, round also meets corner, etc. When you dabble as a hobby, you also like to use materials that you can work with and that are available. Then it becomes your own lover's object. And that's how it should be.

I am happy about the interpretation, but from my perspective I would present it differently: (bei mir ist zwar Rentnerzeit - insofern Hobby - aber Entwerfen tu' ich schon mein Leben lang und habe auch davon gelebt) For me, the contrasts are certainly present and can be part of design, but that's not what it's about for me. What I try to do is to create joy. (anderen und mir selbst) In my experience, there are designs that many - and even some things that make all observers enjoy .... and I don't claim to often hit the mark, but I try. :)

Besides the different assessments of aesthetics and varying tastes, another component plays a role for me when it comes to the things in our house: What kind of relationship do I have with the piece. Only then does genuine living quality emerge for me. Here, this self-built bathroom cabinet is simply unbeatable. Thought up and implemented to my own satisfaction. And as much as I like you, , here in the forum, that piece would not suit me. And it doesn't have to.
