Eaves on a gable roof as facade protection?

We have a 30° gable roof without overhangs, but with a brick facade.

However, we invested in verge tiles (for Braas Turmalin) and a zinc sheet cladding for the bargeboard to reduce the frequency of painting.

Everything warm and dry – and here in the north, the rain often comes horizontally as well.
For protection from rain or sun, an overhang of about 50 cm is probably necessary.

Clear vote: No, don’t do it. Save the 2500 at blinkblink, not on substance. (Simpler kitchen, cheaper paving outside, no premium tile or similar)

Okay, but why? Just "substance" is - excuse me - too vague for me, I'm really interested in the background: What are the pros and cons. There are also many others who build with little or no roof overhang, like , and that seems to be okay as well?

There is then sheet steel around it as a seal. But you want to save, not this reduced look

As far as I have the information from the planner, no steel sheet is supposed to be placed around at 10cm. Am I misinformed?

I like the 50cm version better aesthetically. But not enough to justify a €2500 surcharge. Do the 40cm difference really make a difference in the building structure, and if so, what kind?

I think you can't say that in general. 10 cm is probably aesthetically intended but poorly executed. 50, on the other hand, can crush the side walls and anything larger can look like a mushroom. Additionally, [Giebel] or [Traufseite] and the weather side play a role. [Giebelseite] can also have a different dimension than the [Traufseite].
