Is anyone using this "Ring" camera doorbell? I took a look at it, integration with Alexa works, an existing doorbell button/switch can easily be replaced by it. Power comes from the existing doorbell wiring. Notification on the smartphone via app. Sounds not too bad and the price is quite reasonable.
I was planning to. I bought the Pro for €179 about three quarters of a year ago, but haven't installed it yet. The amount of plastic somehow puts me off. I don't feel like drilling holes in the plaster that basically are only for a toy doorbell. But I have to say, since last week (skill update), the Alexa integration has been well done, especially with an Echo Show 2 in the kitchen.
I really like the doorbird d2101v in terms of quality, and we also have a LAN cable in the box. The problem here is that I don't feel like chipping off so much plaster to realize this virtually flush-mounted.
Can this thing also be mounted surface-mounted?
