Hello everyone,

due to a planning error with the staircase, our bathroom door to the main bathroom on the upper floor has to be reduced from 86cm width to 73.5cm. Do you have any experience regarding what kind of compensation one could demand here? For us, this is already a major cut, but there is no sense at all of how to express this monetarily. It certainly cannot be changed anymore.

Thank you very much for your experiences

Chris

I would bet that you will not receive any compensation, no matter what you demand. But you could start with 500,-, more than that will probably not be obtainable if at all. However, I would rather guess 0.

Then tell me, what major cut does the smaller door now have for you? If you are actually in a situation where you suffer severe permanent disadvantages as a result, one could talk about compensation.

Is reduction the only or easiest solution? First, see if a better solution can be found. If there is no other way, it is often worthwhile to waive a financial claim and get a favor on another side. There is always something that can be balanced in discussions with the construction partners. The atmosphere remains good, the interaction fair, and this is also reflected in the quality.

In view of , I am amazed to read that the coordination of the stairs / bathroom door is said to have gone off track by only twelve and a half centimeters.
