Ventilation slot exists at the top of the cross frame. However, we have that on every door in the house. Where the frame rests against the wall, the sound insulation is significantly better
Apart from the fact that it's simply botched. I don't understand why the gap should have an effect on the sound. The frame should actually fit into the wall opening; whether there is a slit to the wall inside or outside should be irrelevant. Who is responsible for the planning? In my opinion, either the site manager or the tiler was asleep here. You simply can't tile halfway up to a wall opening.
Maybe the frame is not flush with the cutout? The increased noise has to come from somewhere. The tiler didn’t mention anything about the doors and I let him do it.
I see it the same way as . A tiler must know that he cannot tile like this. The tiles have to be removed and fitted after the proper installation of the frame. Acrylic joint and done. But the door manufacturer should not have installed the frame like that either!!!!! In this respect, each trade bears its costs due to poor workmanship. Anything else will be botched again.
It seems to me that the construction management messed up the coordination of the trades here. The tiler does not know what the door frame looks like, the door installer knows nothing about a half-height tile backsplash. Neither of them probably wanted to accept an additional trip, so both just went ahead and did it. We had the door frames installed in the bathrooms in advance, only then did the tiler come.
