We simply didn’t tile the walls in the bathroom at all, it looks better anyway. Then you also save yourself the trouble

Want to bring up the topic again.

Would it generally help if I stuff all door frames with insulation wool? I still have quite a bit lying around here. It can't do any harm, right?

Always just put it in. There are also foams.

However, I doubt that the slot is the main cause at all if you are bothered by the shower noise.

To give some feedback here as well:

I have now insulated 4 casings and done a very amateurish test (CD player and decibel app). Silicone joints probably won't help much anymore

-two rooms 3db quieter
-one room the same
-one room 5db louder

Somewhere I once read that a reduction of 5db feels like 10db. Let's see if it makes a difference in everyday life.

Sticking cotton wool in your ears also feels quieter.

Some people already have cotton wool in their heads, so they can skip that step.
