No, the first sentence is simply correct, and the second—well, you can argue about that. But let's put it this way: For someone with a family and employed under a contract, it’s 98% complete nonsense. Better?

Sorry, I was a bit sloppy with quoting there. Better! A well-paid single will see the matter differently again

Health insurance contributions are also capped for statutory insurance. From an annual income of 53,000, one is voluntarily insured under statutory insurance if they exceed the limit for three consecutive years.

People, people... The costs of my [PKV] measured against my income are certainly not worth mentioning... BUT it goes on: My income will certainly not stay that high and what then? The contributions increase... what if I have 3 more children? Then I will quickly be at 1500-2000 EUR [PKV] per month and that in old age. The [PKV] was a big mistake on my part many, many years ago. But that train has long since left the station. The [PKV] should be abolished and replaced by a citizens' insurance. I cannot confirm that I have received better services so far either. What I can confirm: Every little thing leads to a lot of important examinations for me. The whole system is totally stupid! Done!

No, that happens immediately when you cross the border.

Steffen80: Very well observed .

If the employer did not have to pay about half of the health insurance, he might possibly add it as salary instead. The employer always calculates with the total personnel costs...
