With 6500 euros/month net, you are not an average earner (not according to all the statistics I know)! For normal earners, quite a few things are missing: - Disability insurance - Savings plan for the children (or much smaller) - Second car (big city??) - Supplemental health insurance - Legal protection - Riester or other private pension plans (or significantly smaller) - Pay-TV; overseas trips, riding lessons, golf club, diving vacations, sailboat, ..., and whatever else there is. (Just a little joke, but only a small one.) Now quickly check what our insurances cost ... Voluntarily concluded insurances 119 euros/month (disability, extended household, term life, children accident). Quite a lot indeed. Pension plans are not considered insurances for me. Mandatory insurances (including health insurance) I leave aside.

€650 health insurance is a bargain, especially when you consider that as a private insured person you are treated preferentially and receive better services. Just calculate an average earner with a gross income of €4000, who pays over €600 alone at 15.5%!!!

Well, with the 15.5% you almost share the amount 50:50 with the employer....

Anyone who still has private insurance today is to blame themselves...

The statement is unfortunately simply wrong when generalized like that...

I copied this here for fun from another thread. Anyone can form their own opinion about €650 from a €10,000 gross monthly salary.
