Do craftsmen have to draw attention to maintenance joints?

Hello,

we commissioned a craftsman or contractor for work on a flat roof of a garage. The wall connection was glued to the house wall (garage is directly adjacent to the house) with a polymer adhesive. The joint at the top was sealed with neutral-cured silicone. Unfortunately, the construction execution was not discussed in detail. It only became clear that this is a maintenance joint when I asked whether "silicone used outdoors" was actually applied. Since I do not intend to regularly check the joint, I wonder if the craftsman should have informed me in advance ("maintenance joint clause")?

No, he wouldn’t have had to bring it up on his own. Have any more “problems” with this craftsman come up?

Well, not really problems - at least now after building the garage, I realize that some execution details should be specified more precisely. I'm just checking whether I can improve this silicone joint on my own, e.g. with compressible tape, etc. But that’s heading towards "Wandanschluss". Does anyone know about that?

So silicone as sealing is not permissible, with the garage he should have led the plaster over the atika sheet, especially as a professional.

But I did it similarly, but with a black tar that sticks and moves or whatever it was called.

I think so too. I would proceed like and have a friendly conversation with the craftsman. At first, it sounded to me like preparation for trouble. Apparently, it is not.
