Not necessarily. Reviews are also moderated. But yes, that is also inherent to the matter. Hotel portals, for example, even remind you about the reviews, etc., and yet only a fraction actually leave a review here.

Additionally, people tend to remember and want to express negative experiences more than positive ones. Therefore, it can happen that a great craftsman is never reviewed because everyone is grateful and silent.

The negative comments are totally enough for me ... but again no sign of any here: I know at least 3 who had the same problems with the craftsman as we did: not a word ...

How do you handle this? Have you rated the craftsmen positively as well as negatively? I wrote a positive review for every negative one ...

I was extremely satisfied with A and not at all with B: both were rated so as not to always just complain

I myself have no interest in rating people/companies. Especially not with data giant Google. Whoever wants reviews usually encourages their customers to do so. Craftsmen have not understood this yet.

I have even experienced a notary asking for a Google review in their letter after the purchase contract was concluded. That was a strike against them in my book; I found it quite inappropriate. I myself am too lazy to write reviews; I have to be really upset about something to write one.

Our craftsmen in house construction sometimes didn’t even have a listing, homepage, or anything similar. They worked diligently and had no time for the internet. The good ones get hired, and as long as there’s no gap in the schedule book, an entry in the yellow pages is enough. Yesterday I picked up sushi again from our sushi guy: on Google, the first 20 reviews were all bad – but there were also “arguments” there. That’s already defamation... I only do hotels, restaurants, or very good reviews now; I leave out the bad ones, it could have been a bad day or something, but that can backfire big time. Direct conversation is more honest. Through third parties, i.e. portals, one can be taken down...

Same here, I fundamentally do not review craftsmen. Hotels yes, restaurants occasionally.
