Hi,

How do you come to that??? That would be €42 per m^3 of rainwater. I think that’s a bit too exaggerated..... I would rather dispose of the water as hazardous waste; that would be cheaper

Best regards,

Andreas

From the current wastewater fee statute: "[...] for rainwater discharged into public wastewater systems (rainwater fee), per m2 of chargeable area and year: from 01.01.2017 1.56 euros". With 200 m2 of sealed or roof area and 20 years that is 6240€ (provided the price remains the same).

oh right..... together in 20 years.... well... 4600 € plus about 1400 in interest on the 4600 € also make 6000 €. If nothing breaks, you're at the break even point of 20 years. If you then completely save the [Niederschlagsgebühr], it's still somewhat reasonable. I would definitely consider it in your position. We would still pay the [Niederschlagsgebühr] despite having a cistern. The city argues that a large part of the rain doesn't fall during the watering period, but from September to May. And then the water sooner or later still runs off through the overflow (which is required here) into the sewage system. That's not entirely wrong either... Best regards, Andreas

Purely economically, the cistern probably only pays off for very few. However, the conditions are not the same everywhere. I cannot be exempted from wastewater charges through a second meter and therefore pay €4.50 per m3. If I were now also saving money on sealed surfaces (not the case for me), it could make economic sense. Anyone who only pays €2 for fresh water should probably avoid it.

The same topic applies to solar thermal energy. That only pays off at the earliest after 20 years. I would rather save water through the cistern than save a bit of fuel or electricity.

why should the deduction meter not work for you? what requirements do you have? the requirements can almost all be legally interpreted differently.

for us it says, for example: the deduction meter must be located in the branch line to the outside water tap.

so I explained to them with DIN and co that there must NOT be a branch line, as standing water can form there, which can lead to contamination of the entire water supply of the street. consequently, I was allowed to install the water meter behind the frost-proof outside water tap, as long as I put another water tap (one of those Gardena distributors) behind the meter. with that I complied with the wording of their statutes. what I am still missing is the "fixed installation". I wanted to build a small "hut" for that.

There are waterworks that simply exclude that.
