Dear forum members,
the windows were recently installed in our new building. We have partially box-type roller shutter housings, partially with venetian blinds. What surprised me a bit is the different depth of the outer frames in the exterior wall. The outer frames with roller shutters are clearly further outside than the others (about 7 cm). Furthermore, I also find the outer frames with the venetian blinds very far recessed... there is also insulation and plaster in front of it (a total of 16 cm), and already the outer frame is recessed about 12 cm. That means in the end it lies almost 30 cm deep, with the sash frame even a few centimeters deeper when viewed from outside. Inside, the outer frame is almost flush with the interior wall, so the windowsill inside becomes very narrow (maybe 8-10 cm). Inside, all the box housings are flush with the wall, so that fits. Maybe it is simply due to structural reasons?
I can't quite imagine it yet, but somehow it could look strange from the outside in the end if the window is recessed so extremely? Attached are pictures of the 2 variants.
