Development of the property - what are you allowed to do "yourself"?

Hello,

for our planned new construction of a single-family house, there are still some development works to be done, meaning there are no connections on the property yet.

Therefore, the question is: Which of these works am I allowed to carry out myself on my property?

Still to be installed are: drinking water, wastewater, rainwater, electricity, and telephone.

I know that the connections to the public lines can only be carried out officially, but which of these may I install myself between the property boundary and the house (and by myself I do not necessarily mean me alone but also suitably qualified friends) in order to only have to commission the portion up to my property?

The background is, among other things, that we are supposed to pay about €15,000-20,000 for the installation of the wastewater and rainwater pipes up to our property (approximately 45m each) (and that is only our share of the costs, since two other houses are also connected and still have to pay...). And no, the terrain is not particularly difficult...

You are allowed to bury the blue drinking water protection pipe yourself if it is required in your area ([Ist bei uns])

You are allowed to build the entire sewage channel yourself and connect it to the sewer system...
Rainwater too... of course, it must not mix with wastewater.

You are allowed to bury the protective pipe for the telephone cable (available free of charge from Telekom)

With electricity, you are not allowed to do anything...

However, the regulations vary regionally, so I would simply inquire with the local builders' association or similar... or just directly with the utility providers

You may do all the earthworks on your property yourself.

Yes, but whether you pay even a cent less for it is questionable.

Telekom charges a flat rate, the connection costs 599, whether they come with an excavator themselves or not.

At Bayernwerk (formerly E.On Bayern), the credit for the earthworks is also very low.

You should clarify this best with the utility provider. We were able to do the earthworks completely by ourselves. We received a schedule from the municipal utilities indicating when the trench should be dug for electricity, gas, water, and fiber optics. Then they came by and laid the cables and pipes, and we had to fill the trench again on the same day (frost protection, since it was already December). We were able to do the sewage system completely by ourselves, since a transfer shaft was installed on our property as part of the external infrastructure. We were also able to do the rainwater infiltration ourselves, but had to inform the municipal utilities so they could inspect after the drainage was laid and before the trench was filled, to ensure there was no connection to the sewer system, as the rainwater must completely infiltrate on our property.

Yes, it's that different, I am telling you... Telekom in Berlin wants a little over 300 but only for the connection + cable... the pipes, as mentioned, are free and you are allowed to bury them yourself...

If they have to come with an excavator, however, a few hundred per meter are added...
