Hello,

We want to build a house with DEURA. In the construction service description, a decentralized ventilation system through window rebate ventilation is listed for the ventilation system. That seems like a cheap solution to me. Are there any experiences and opinions on this?

Thanks!

It is cheap. But works if you use an extractor fan, for example one that blows air out in the bathroom. Then there is always some draft in the house. And air exchange for little money. We have it. Ok.[emoji108]

We have it without an exhaust fan, as a controlled residential ventilation system was not possible for us - it works flawlessly. We ventilate the bedroom in the morning and the bathroom after showering. Humidity is around 50% everywhere. Ventilating the bedroom would not even be necessary if it were only about humidity.

I am an expert and can only recommend controlled ventilation with heat recovery; decentralized ventilation systems are only an emergency solution, e.g., in [Altbau] that has been renovated. Or if you want everything to be as cheap as possible.

DEURA preferably sells heat pumps. But if you don't want to freeze, those things need a lot of electricity in winter. The calculations of electricity costs come from the lab. If you use a gas boiler, the savings are enormous and you can do without subsidy programs. If the insulation is okay, then with the gas boiler you have energy costs of 400-500€ per year. The heat pump doesn't last forever, 10-15 years. Then it gets expensive. You can get the gas boiler for 2300€. Electricity costs for the heat pump can explode if you don't want to freeze. 1000kwh per month is no problem.

To reach 1000kWh in one month with a heat pump using today's thermal insulation, you would have to switch off the compressor and only heat with electricity. Then you might as well skip the heat pump altogether and install a 6kW instantaneous water heater.

So please don't talk such nonsense.
