We also built a city villa with a 22 degree hip roof. However, we find the just under 16 sqm under the cold roof, which are walkable, to be okay. We have put up shelves and are currently storing there all the things that no longer fit in the garage.

The standing height is really not generous, but at least we don’t clutter up as much as in the old house, where we had 120 sqm of attic available.

and how much standing space do you have under the roof (can you stand upright)?

Best regards

Standing itself – in the middle I will probably have a height of 3-4 m up to the ridge. I would have to measure the area sometime – but I don’t know exactly when I will find time for this.

I just measured again – especially for you . I had "slightly" misjudged the height up to the ridge beam.
Height up to ridge beam: 2.75 m
Floor area with headroom: 4.70 m x 11 m = 51.70 sqm
With the head slightly bent, you can add about 1 m in width.

Currently, we have most of our "stored goods" under the sloping parts (in winter some will be cleared out again). Thus, the entire "headroom" space is still available. When I have time (probably in winter), I will make myself a nice, large workbench from the leftover OSB boards and some planks. As far as my "nonexistent" craftsmanship allows .

We are building similarly. Only a 25-degree gable roof, but about 12 m x approximately 10 m. I’m looking forward to the dance hall and already have many ideas.

Also designed "cold" but with a window and a proper staircase. You never know.

Best regards, Steffen

That's a huge area! Do you have a concrete floor there?

Best regards Sabine
