Hello,

our prefabricated garage is to be delivered and placed on the two strip foundations, which were created by a specialist company according to the manufacturer's specifications, using a special vehicle/hydraulic lifting arm.

The height difference from the ground to the foundation is approximately 1.55 meters. After the garage is set, the space will be immediately filled with gravel and compacted.

I am now concerned that the front foundation could break out under load before it is filled with gravel.

What do you think? Is there a way to support the slope/foundation?

Problem: The vehicle must be able to drive up to <0.5 meters in front of the first foundation to unload the garage.

But placing the foundations under the ends is a strange manufacturer’s specification.

I wouldn't call that "concerns" – rather an "as yet unevaluated certainty." After all, it has basically "zero coverage" right at the edge of the cliff!
In which joke book did you find the instructions???

However, my problem remains...how do I best position the garage without anything going wrong?

Can't they lay gravel there beforehand? The crane truck drives to where the hole currently is and could also drive on gravel, or am I seeing that wrong? And if there's no gravelled path, won't it get stuck with the garage on the back if the ground is wet?

Otherwise... who hired the foundation company and who guarantees that the manufacturer's specifications were followed? If it wasn't you, I'd just take the risk. If the load of the garage presses only from top to bottom, then it should hold even without extra securing.

By following the foundation plan, which you obviously haven’t read. In my opinion, you should have at least continued the level ground up to under the outdoor water tap and from there created a maximum 75° slope, then compacted the whole thing BEFORE setting the strip foundations (slapping a few crumbs of earth on now is pointless). So 1. at least the rear strip foundation must be removed again, 2. create the ground surface as described above, 3. compact (including the slope!!!), 4. check the alignment of the front strip foundation and 5. reset the rear one. 0. until then you can already postpone the delivery. If someone puts a garage there before that - which only an inexperienced driver would do - then they must quickly release the garage when setting it down so it doesn’t pull the truck with it. Because it will slip, whether immediately or not, but I assume the former (except possibly if the ground is frozen). Insurers pay close attention to how negligently someone has taken risks. Plain speaking: the mess will fall on those responsible - client and site manager (jointly and severally, I assume). You won’t be happy ever again, and, of course, will lose the house as well.

I won’t repeat myself now :-(

Previously adding more gravel higher up is not not so easily possible, as the delivery vehicle would not be able to manage the slope to the garage. The vehicle must also not be further than 0.5 meters away from the first foundation.

The only idea I would have is to gravel and compact the driveway up to the foundation and then place the garage on its foundations with a crane. However, that would be associated with considerable additional costs.

A company was commissioned for this, which consulted with the garage manufacturer. The foundations have also already been inspected and approved by the garage company. I am not an expert. The terrain went exactly up to the water tap (0.5m) before the last heavy rain washed some soil down. A slope does not help me, as the delivery vehicle would no longer be able to get close enough to the foundations and therefore cannot place the garage.
