Deadlines for surveying after completion?

Hello everyone,

Our single-family house was completed in September last year. The architect or construction manager said that the building should be re-measured within 6 months. So the deadline would expire now. However, we want to build a garage, which should be measured at the same time to save unnecessary costs. Is the 6-month deadline really that strict? Who checks this? Are there penalties if this is not done on time?

Be relaxed and wait until someone contacts you for the surveying. There will probably be no penalty (at least there wasn’t any in our development area – no one here shouted "I absolutely want to spend money on surveying immediately," but everyone just waited).

P.S. If you can do the surveying together with a neighbor (new development area), you can save costs!

They did not register with any of us in the new development area but completed their task at some point. Knowledge of the survey was only gained through the subsequent invoice! I wouldn't be so relaxed about that.

Unannounced on my property?! That doesn't work anyway because of the fence and possible trespassing. As a surveyor, I would be more than careful to proceed like you did.
