I have now requested painters, I will report.

It wouldn’t match the rest of the house because of the ‘dusty old-fashioned’ look. I probably have to upgrade that during the sorting out or assign it separately or do it myself. But that was how it was initially listed in the last offer. You actually sort out many things only after signing. And then the items are settled.

So we have no fleece, plastered with Q3 and painted. It looks really good for us and we are happy with it. Not perfect, but definitely more than good enough and certainly nicer than textured wallpaper. Textured wallpaper is completely outdated. Nobody does that anymore. At least that's what I observe in my environment, whether it's a one-room student flat or a large detached house. Everyone plasters and paints, sometimes with fleece. We paid €6,000 for it. Textured wallpaper won’t be much cheaper now either. Another advantage is that smooth plaster is less prone to mold than textured wallpaper.

Then you had a pretty cheap operation. Here, the drywall installer alone wanted 600 EUR gross for the 75m² ceiling area on the upper floor from Q2 to Q3. Of course, it looks fantastic for that; it's an absolutely smooth surface. Painted twice by myself, done. I didn't even ask the plasterer what all the walls would cost to do in Q3... I estimate that alone would have come to 5-7,000 EUR, at least that was the case with the neighbors who had everything done by a painter. I heard sums up to 25,000 EUR there. Now it is sanded and partially re-spackled Q2 plaster, primed and painted once. The moments when I thought "Man, that really doesn't look so great in the light now," I can count on one hand. It's like with a car. The first scratch still annoys you, then it doesn't matter. When the kids are bigger and not constantly grabbing the walls anymore, I will spackle, sand, and paint the "most critical" walls again. And I also know some who have glued Raufaser wallpaper in new buildings. Because they don't have the money for Q3 and smooth fleece wallpaper, and the issue is completely overrated anyway. No one looks at their walls for hours in everyday life. Mold? Mold also occurs on plastered walls if you don't ventilate properly. Then just not on the wallpaper but on the backs of the furniture. Which is much worse because then you can throw those away.

Oh, normal dispersion paint can mold just as well as wallpaper. Then you really have to use silicate paint (for lime plaster) or dispersion silicate paint (for gypsum plaster).

But of course, that's simply a matter of taste. Woodchip wallpaper immediately stands out to me when I enter somewhere. I really find it old-fashioned, and a nice new building suddenly no longer looks like a new building. But as I said, tastes vary.
