Oh, yes. Spread over fifteen risers, that's 19.67/23.67, so extremely steep. Reduced to 17.35/28.30 (then with 17 risers) required 1.26 m more running length.

Hello Matthew03,

I am curious about how much the pool will approximately cost. How big is the pool and is it going to be heated as well?

Yes, I am interested in that too. My wife would like to have a pool - it always makes sense to plan it right from the start. Is a cover or enclosure (e.g., made of movable parts) planned? I always see it quite critically when a pool is left open or only with a "cheap" cover in the winter.

True. It was simply forgotten, I have to tell him, thanks for the hint!

Yes, it is indeed 275 cm clear room height. The stair issue is annoying and was not intended to be that steep. I’m curious if there will be an acceptable solution for that...

Hello you two,

we actually keep the costs for the pool relatively low. This is mainly due to the type of pool chosen and the do-it-yourself work. Since a fiberglass pool unfortunately falls out for budget reasons, after much weighing and researching we ended up with a styrofoam pool. The styrofoam blocks are filled with concrete and reinforced with iron rods. Because I definitely want a rectangular pool, it’s minimally more expensive than an oval one, but for both variants complete sets like these are offered. It’s important, however, to pay attention to whether the offered pump is really sufficient for the pool size.

Our pool will be 8x4 meters and 1.5 meters deep. We will surround it with a wooden deck and heat it with a solar absorber (which is then an extra circuit for the filtered water). My in-laws have had very good experiences with both, and the water temperature is quite reliably around +/- 23-24 degrees even in the German "summer." The costs for the pool set including liner, edging, wedge bead, pump, ladder, and small parts are about 3,800 euros, plus the solar absorber for about 400 euros (depending on size) and the concrete for the base slab and filling (about 700-800 euros). A friend who operates an excavator will dig the hole in the garden for a case of beer...

We probably also want to buy a cover, but if so, a "proper" one that can also bear the weight of children and animals. Since that is a bit more expensive than a thin tarp, we have to wait and see what is left of the budget in the end; maybe it’ll only come later...

I rather think: the space under the stairs was deliberately included. Then you have a storage area where you can keep toilet paper and cleaning supplies. But her name isn’t Ilsebill, is it? :-0 Pool ancillary and operating costs are greatly underestimated. Old bicycles rust under many pool covers. In public swimming facilities, you do encounter people with class. And that you swim your laps every morning: that’s just something people say, when pouring lead.
