Hello everyone,

we have an approximately 1000 sqm flat plot, and the idea of a play hill came to me.

In the current construction phase, we have stored the excavation from the house in a huge pile of earth in the middle of the plot. That still needs to be spread out.

My idea now is to take part of it and shape a small hill in the corner/at the edge of the plot to leave it to the children for playing.
A small tree and grass on top so the soil doesn’t wash away.

Later it could be used as a base for a waterfall – or leveled again.

What do you think?
Does anyone have experience? How big should it be approximately?

Doing is great for the children. It must not be too small, otherwise it becomes uninteresting. It then has to go back down at the property line.

Hi,
it's a great plan. But it really shouldn't be too small, at least 2 m high would be great. The city has set up something similar on the playground here in the new development area. The hill is the most used "play equipment." Depending on the children's mood that day, it serves as

    [*]Ritterburg
    [*]Schiff auf hoher See
    [*]Wurfgleiterabschussrampe
    [*]Aussichtsturm
    [*]Schlittenfahrhügel
[*]Kamikazestrecke für Roller, Bobbycar und Fahrrad (Nix für schwache Elternnerven)
    [*]Sonnenterrasse
    [*]usw....

Good luck!

Andreas

If you still have leftover excavation, why not? A similar idea came to me recently when we were at the playground by the slide. From a height difference of 1 meter, it makes sense, since you can fit a slide there. Possibly you can also dig around it a bit so it doesn’t get too high. Or build a small retaining wall on one side so it doesn’t spread out so much.

That reminds me of my childhood when we sped down the excavation pile in the new development area around the corner.

I think I'll plan it and talk to the civil engineer about what is possible.

Thanks for your – encouraging – replies

I would have gone wild earlier too. And the children have already immediately taken over the excavation mound. It would be a pity to take that away from them again.
