Our crane was also on the neighboring property --> on fleece, then gravelled, so everything could be restored after dismantling to how it was before, I gave my word to that. It can be that simple.

What kind of problem is it to put it in writing. A gust of wind comes and then??

The injured party will come after you property owners

and then when he finishes his garden he won't let you on it

And what is supposed to happen in a gust of wind? If something happens, the company is responsible because the crane was not properly set up, not you as the property owner. Otherwise, the municipality would not allow you to set up a crane on public ground either.

It is also understandable that the crane should not be placed in a finished garden. But one can come to an arrangement, for example the original poster can use the same crane spot which is already prepared accordingly or the crane spot can be in the driveway so that the concrete can remain.

Nope. Nobody knows yet how big the property is. In any case, we have experienced that everything is used by the construction workers if you don't forbid it. They drove excavators completely unnecessarily into the outermost corner of the property (over 2000m²), even though we had specifically asked them to only use the front part of the property.

To loosen up or redo the entire area — just ask the landscape gardener what he would charge for 2000m²! We couldn't afford it and were very upset about this compaction and destruction.

Therefore: yes to setting up a crane — but I would specify exactly where and how.

But again, I don't need a contract for that.

In your case, for example, the person had no right to enter that part of the property and is liable for damages. Even without a contract.

Maybe we still live in an ideal world here where you can achieve a lot over a beer at the construction site, I don't know...

You don't piss on your general contractor's leg when he hasn't even set a single stone yet. Especially since he personally did not expect the simple-minded excavator driver either. It's better to clarify such things exactly in advance. That maintains the friendship.

If I let construction workers onto my land and they are not supposed to go somewhere, there is always barrier tape hanging there now (e.g. trees or well holes). It works perfectly! They are trained to respect that, you wouldn't believe it!
