We still have older wooden windows in the living room. They also crack now and then with large temperature differences. They are on the east side. One floor above, we have [Kunststoff-Aluminium-Fenster] on the outside in anthracite, which have never cracked. At least based on this, I cannot confirm that it is due to the color. The wooden windows are double-glazed, the [Kunststoff-Aluminium] ones are triple-glazed.... maybe something like that also makes a difference. And upstairs in the attic, it especially cracks now and then in the roof structure in autumn and spring, completely normal.
