Hello everyone,

we finally moved into our new house 1 week ago. Now I noticed a small gap at our bedroom window. When it was a bit windier yesterday, I realized that there is also a draft at this spot. The thing is, my father screwed the baseboard to the window in the room without my knowledge. So it means it was drilled through. Now I would like to know if this could be related or if it is a defect in the window. Or should there still be no draft at this spot. I have attached pictures of the area.

I would appreciate answers.

The window profile was poorly glued there. Get yourself a cartridge of MS polymer compound white, tape it off neatly and seal the questionable spot. Remove the tape while the compound is still soft. Smooth the joint beforehand if necessary with soapy water. Spit works too. Caution, MS polymer is a devilish substance and difficult to remove from the skin. Work with disposable gloves.

Why should the OP do the work himself in his new building?

I would say that it is the window installer's job to do this properly.
To me, it looks like one of the strips is a bit too short.

That is just a poorly cut glass bead. It will be replaced, and that's it. What is questionable, however, is why there is air coming through or where it is coming from.
