Two boreholes up to 3.2 m were drilled with a manual drilling device.
The following was examined:
- Layer structure of the subsoil and soil classification
- Groundwater situation
- Bedding modulus, allowable soil pressure
- Backfilling, soil replacement
- Foundation recommendation, sealing variant according to DIN 18195
- Infiltration capacity for surface water
- Sampling and analysis according to LAGA TR Boden

761€

What are your current experiences with geotechnical investigations regarding the incurred costs?

Background:

I have received 3 offers for a geotechnical investigation for a single-family house with a basement in the Upper Palatinate. The price range is between 1600 and 2700 € net for 2 driven core probes between 5-8 m, without a contaminated site investigation – purely a geotechnical investigation, no soil chemical analysis

I would appreciate your assessment as to whether these are realistic price levels.

Since I had my geotechnical survey with the soil analysis done a month ago, I can tell you I paid €1237 gross for both. I will send you their website via PM. I got the tip here from a user. The company operates nationwide.

I had obtained 3 quotes for a single-family house with a basement. €1800, €1200, €800. Each was purely for drilling with foundation recommendations and soil loading without analytics.

After closer examination and telephone coordination with the most expensive and the cheapest, it turned out that they actually all "only" offer the same. Sometimes a different investigation method is used, but the calculations and information needed by the builder/construction company are ultimately the same.

We therefore chose the cheapest, a geologist from the local area. The final bill amounted to €720 because 5m drilling depth was calculated, but in some places drilling could not go that deep due to rock. Included were also investigations and recommendations for geothermal use. And the information from the report has so far been sufficient for all parties involved.
