Cost calculation for our bathroom - is 6000K for equipment realistic?

Hello everyone,

since we have already received many good tips in the forum here, we are now back with a new request for help.

At the beginning, when the idea of building arose, we were considering a prefabricated house. In the end, after a lot of reading and advice here in the forum, we are now building solid, brick by brick, with Poroton, with a local construction company. The architecture is set, the building application has been submitted, and in April our single-family house should start...

In the past weeks, we have been looking a lot at tiles, doors, stairs, kitchen, bathroom.
As far as the kitchen is concerned, we now have a pretty good idea which should also fit into the budget, similar to the wooden-look tiles we want for the rest of the house (except bathrooms).

We are still a bit more uncertain about the bathroom, especially regarding the budget.

We looked at the bathrooms from the bathroom blog here ( ).
In terms of style, bathrooms #73, #75, #93, #159-160, #167 are in our direction (sorry, I couldn’t manage to link directly to these entries).

Our main bathroom is 18 sqm.
Our guest bathroom is 5 sqm.

For the main bathroom we want:
Freestanding bathtub.
Walk-in floor-level shower.
Double washbasin with large base cabinet (2x2 drawers) and large mirror cabinet.
Toilet

For the guest bathroom:
Walk-in floor-level shower.
Single washbasin with small base cabinet and mirror cabinet.
Toilet.

No urinal, no bidet, etc. – we don’t need those.
Whirlpool rather not (if then only a small "whirl function" as part of the tub).

It should look nice though

The floor is to be tiled (we like Gepadi Nexos mentioned in the above thread, for example); the walls should be tiled or designed with Caraston.

Our offer naturally includes certain things, e.g. tiles priced at 45 EUR/sqm as well as the "labor time" for installation.
For all the material (except the tiles) for both bathrooms together, 6000 EUR is budgeted.

That means if we want more expensive tiles, we have to pay extra.
If we need more/expensive material, we have to pay extra.

Question:
Regarding the tiles, we think we will "roughly" manage; even if it costs a few euros more, it won’t kill us.
However, the 6000 EUR for the rest of the equipment makes us nervous.

Can 6000 EUR (purely for equipment) realistically cover what we have in mind or is it completely unrealistic?
If unrealistic: How much extra should we calculate for?

Thanks.

Oh, by the way, something I might still mention: It is clear that the range of what is possible is certainly "large," so making a specific statement is definitely very difficult. But given what we like and what is needed, one can perhaps at least indicate an order of magnitude. Many thanks!

Hard to say, there is everything from to everywhere
Ideal Standard or Grohe
Fackelmann or Villeroy Boch
Freestanding bathtubs range from about 3000 to 40,000+

What do you like? How are you made? Is it mainly about freestanding or are design and brand important?

Installation is also a factor

Go to your GU’s showroom or to the sanitary business the GU works with and have them put together your desired bathroom, compromises can always be made.

6k will be tight. We have spent about 4K and sourced everything ourselves (single basin, no freestanding bathtub). If you order through the BU, it will really be tight, generally only possible with a hefty surcharge.

I say the TEUR 6 are unrealistic for the wishes. A double washbasin alone easily costs TEUR 6. Then a mirror cabinet at least 160 cm wide costs TEUR 1. We have just received the prices for our bathrooms and have, without a freestanding tub and with only a floor-level shower, an additional cost compared to the standard of TEUR 15.

I guess that at least €10k will come up.
We have a small main bathroom with a shower tray.
The single washbasin with cabinet alone cost over €2k net.
A double washbasin that looks a bit nicer with cabinet will be significantly more expensive.
You can also spend a lot of money in the area of [Armaturen].
Set yourself a realistic fixed budget!
A toilet bowl or washbasin can easily be replaced by yourself in five years.
