I have 30x60 in the utility room and am thankful that I didn't do it in the rest of the house. Tastes are that different ;) In my opinion, that has nothing to do with being "content." But then as the builder I also have to accept the consequences.

- either pay the extra cost (even if overpriced)
- or remove the trade and outsource it

with material costs for the tile or just installation?

These are the prices including VAT for laying the tile, excluding material costs.

Yes, exactly. As a basis, what is already included in the purchase price, 75 €/m2 for material and laying (according to my estimate about 35€ for tiles and 40€ for laying).

For special requests additionally per square meter only for laying
- for size 60X120 cm + 70 €/m2,
- for size 120x120 cm +135 €/m2
- for size 20x120 cm +123 €/m2

For tiles (material) the tiler wants additionally to the base price for example for size 120x120 cm another 111€/m2. Even from the same building materials dealer, you can buy these tiles for 110 €, but they give a 25% discount, so it remains 82.50€.

Even more surprising to me is the price for the 20x120 tiles. I don’t know what is so special about these tiles, therefore I gave the complete designation in my question above.

Thank you very much for the useful info! Were those rectified porcelain stoneware tiles?

In my case, the difference is even greater. I can buy an HG shower myself for <1200€, the responsible sanitary company charges >2000€ in addition to the base price.

yes, these are rectified porcelain stoneware tiles. For me, it was only the difference for a conventional water softener. In total, they wanted 13k for all sanitary items, which I bought myself for about 8k. I understand that a craftsman has to make some profit, but 30% on the water softener and 60% or more on the rest??? I could have accepted moderate markups between 20/25/30%, but 60% is just cheeky. I politely asked the plumber if he wouldn't like to buy his Grünbeck from me soon :) When a builder is faced with two price adjustments beyond 30k during the construction phase, they really are no longer willing to be "taken for a ride."

That's crazy... I would have paid €13k just for the ground floor installation, without bathrooms O.O. We have 20x180 and 30x180 alternating. Our tiler grumbled a bit but didn't charge extra. If I remember correctly, it was €7k for ground floor and bathrooms (walk-in showers, floor 60x60, walls 60x120).

But €135/m2 surcharge for installation of the larger format is really steep. I would remove the trade and assign it myself.
