Hello everyone,
I am currently finalizing my renovation project.
As can be seen in the pictures, there are now numerous spots in the old plaster where cables have been newly installed, old cables removed, or the plaster simply fell off the wall.
In all those places, the old lime plaster (very sandy) was leveled with MEP-L. Now I have mixed surfaces of painted lime plaster areas and MEP-L.
The previous discussions with companies about further execution all went in different directions.
One wanted to replaster everything twice with mesh, another only with Rotband surface filler, one to completely renew the plaster – and everyone considers their own variant completely correct and the others wrong.
Since all plasterers, painters, drywallers, or whatever they call themselves, wouldn’t have time before autumn anyway, I wanted to tackle it myself now. I have basic experience in applying plaster, can achieve nice surfaces, and am not very slow. But I am completely at a loss as to what would be a professionally correct application now.
My first attempts were now with Akurit SK light, since it is reinforced and according to opinions one could forgo using mesh. However, I wonder whether such a "plaster," which is also suitable for the base, is the right choice indoors and whether there really won’t be cracks, for example at the cable chases or the transitions from MEP-L to lime, without mesh.
Therefore my question: What does the collective knowledge say?
Best regards and many thanks
Joachim
