Many who are building a house now entered working life after the last crash in 2008. Since then, it's only gotten faster, better, more.
Unemployment, short-time work, countless unsuccessful applications are known to some only by hearsay. Yes, the hairdresser has to close, the buddies on the assembly line are on short-time, but not me. They are not aware of the domino effect.

and yet you have to pay off for so long? You must have done something wrong.

My opinion: A financing can only be good if you don’t have to restrict yourself after building the house. Whether with 2,000 or 8,000 net. Those who flew on vacation 5 times a year before, never drove a car for longer than 2 years, always wanted the latest items in their wardrobe and went to restaurants twice a week will find it hard if they suddenly have to give all that up. However, those who already watched their expenses before building the house or didn’t have such high demands will manage well afterward with exactly that lifestyle. I find it bad when people who lived extravagantly before, couldn’t save anything and suddenly want to give up vacations, new cars, expensive clothes, etc. when moving into the house and make their expenses look good beforehand. No one who spent their entire income before during the course of the month will manage to save 2,000 euros a month just like that. Many get used to treating themselves for their soul's sake – for some that is a bottle of champagne and designer outfits, for others it is rather a good book.
