Consume or save?

Life has nothing to do with building a house for me. I want to and can live with or without a house. You also can't measure it by money. Everyone defines it differently.

For me, life also equals family. That's why I have been working from home for over 10 years and see my children grow up. Priceless, so I also reject other jobs. Apart from that, it's still enough for three vacations a year and every 3-4 years a new mid-range car is parked in front of the door. Going well

Hello,

while browsing, the name caught my attention.

We (4 people) are driving around a bit in the south this summer, have booked a vacation in October (on the weekend) & the ski hotel.

So just dropping 5k like that. I am always conflicted whether you have to live or save. We earn well, have hardly any installment for the loan and there will also be an inheritance

and you guys???

oh, we haven’t done such cheap vacations in a long time. Were those some kind of Corona bargains? We like to really treat ourselves on vacation. If after building a house we could only afford vacations like you, we would have to admit that we miscalculated the house construction. But maybe it will be possible for you again once you’re finally done with the loan in 8 years. Until then you just have to save a bit.

Which name caught your attention? I don't even understand your initial question. Didn't you live before building the house? Does it only start now after building the house? Giving up the 5th vacation of the year is "not living"?

We probably will still be paying off for 10 years – and yet we live. With three students in other cities who need to be taken care of. Vacations were almost always still possible. However, I really think twice about new furniture purchases, also about buying clothes. That has nothing to do with living for me. That was nice back in the rental apartment and now for over 16 years in the new house.

Everyone defines "life" differently.

I live by having family, job and my sport. So time for that. On vacation, job is off and I chill. Family & sport are still there on vacation.

Yes, I also lived with my wife there. Even very well and with less income, which fortunately has developed positively. We also had to scrape together every penny for equity as we had saved little. Accordingly, only financed 250k.
