Good idea, so you would have the stuff excavated by the development company and leave it on the property for further work?
I don't know your property, but we also built in a development area with several houses. For us, it was possible without any problems to put the pile to the side, and it will be used next year for the driveway.
Personally, I’m also someone who doesn't want to get every little thing fixed in writing. Unfortunately, there are enough examples in the forum why you should do that, but so far I can always assess my counterpart well in a personal conversation and have never really been fooled in such matters. If things really don’t work out, a personal conversation is requested and a solution is sought. The other person is quite certainly interested in that as well.
Leaving gravel there is good, but only as much as you need. Otherwise, you’ll end up disposing of it afterwards. If it’s clean basalt 0/32, great. If it’s already visibly mixed with dirt and clay, no shell builder will take it for the foundation.
And as I said, you’ll need plenty of topsoil in the end if there isn’t any left now. I’ve been burned on that.
So I personally wouldn’t want to use it for the foundation. I would rather think of the driveway... just don’t start saving money on the foundation.
