It will happen, but only if you have been self-employed long enough and can present continuously positive financial statements. I am self-employed as well, even as the sole earner, and received 235,000 EUR for house construction without any problems. Loan decision within 14 days. And that not even from my house bank, but from an external bank.

That may be bluntly expressed, but unfortunately he is not wrong.

Ok - I wouldn't have thought that this is possible as a self-employed person. Since I am also self-employed, this is really good information that will certainly help me later on.

hi,

I received a great book yesterday. "Wir planen und bauen unser Haus" and I find many tips.
Among other things, there is a table that compares loan burden and family income.
It says here that for a 100,000 E loan, a family income of 2065 E should be available. For a 150,000 E loan, 2393 E. The list is based on 4% interest and that equity is available. However, I think these are only guidelines anyway.

You can't generalize it like that.

How many people live in the household?
How high are the living expenses (e.g. walking to work or 100 km every day?)
Standard of living (once a year at a farm or flying away three times a year?)

hi,

yes, of course - but I thought it was about what you can get for the income. These were also just guidelines that banks calculate nationwide in a general way. So the actual need can best be clarified with a household budget book. I am still looking for the 700.00 euros monthly that the bank back then found as a buffer with us - mind you, after the credit installment and deduction of living costs. But my husband is a business economist and has been keeping our household budget book for years. In this way, we have had an overview for 10 years and know what maximum installment we can or want to afford. I think if you have to abstain from many things for a house for a long time, frustration will come soon. But everyone has to decide that for themselves.
