Hello everyone,
we are currently planning a 140 m2 house on a 500 m2 plot.
There are only 2 providers left in the race, one is a prefab house provider and the other is a solid house provider.
We want to build with an air-water heat pump with underfloor heating including 4 KW photovoltaic to balance electricity costs in the long term.
The prefab house provider builds to KFW 55 standard and indicates a monthly cost block for the pump of 35 euros.
The solid house provider builds with regular bricks and advises against insulation according to KFW70 standard, which is 12,000 euros more expensive. As an argument, he states that the costs for the pump would be about 65 euros per month and only about 6 euros per month could be saved through insulation according to KFW70. To get the 12,000 euro investment back, 200 months would be necessary - thus not worthwhile.
What is your opinion on this topic, do you have experience, and how do you assess my approach, would you plan the house differently?
Many thanks and best regards
Andre
