I just ordered one of those RAL cards myself – let's see what it will be. Are there any tricks on how to project a small color card area onto a larger surface / make life easier? Or is it ultimately just a "guesswork" decision? :)
It’s always a bit of "guesswork" because manufacturers only promise "similar to RAL 1234" and colors also differ depending on material and surface. My photo shows a K5 color fan. I wouldn’t go smaller than that; it stops being helpful at some point. If you have found a "favorite shade," you can also buy it separately as a larger card and compare it against all other samples to see if it fits.
Off topic: Great that someone besides me has started a "Colors Thread" :) According to some practically minded co-forum members and experts, it’s rather (rightfully) pointless because colors look different on every monitor, phone, etc., but it’s still fun. :) What other thread is there in this forum where you can simply speculate, guess, estimate so nicely and relaxed without having to comment knowledgeably and on a high argumentative level. Also, this is one of those threads where every contributor is theoretically right.
For me it’s RAL 000 65 00 Mortar grey Mortar grey
:)
Have fun guessing ;-)
