Cobblestones as a boundary for the paved area in front of the garage?

Hello everyone,

I am currently planning our front yard (including paving work). Since we like the Bavarian/rustic style, our paving in front of the double garage will also be more rustic. Accordingly, as a border for the paving (location see picture), we do not particularly like a concrete single stone.

In your opinion, is it possible or does anyone have experience with large cobblestones as a border for paved areas? Or would the paving stones as a border not provide enough support for the drivable paving?

Thanks & regards
Jörg

The prefabricated garage with Woodgrain sectional door has cleverly hidden that *LOL* What kind of support? - in the photo I suspect the neighboring property is already shown on the left and thus the driveway is on the border - how should especially height differences be secured there?

Whether you make a curb or a row of paving stones is a matter of taste. Both belong on a concrete foundation.

If YOU pave with granite, you should also make granite curbs or a row of paving stones made of granite.

Thank you for the quick responses, I just thought that a concrete one-liner might be a more stable support due to its construction height (including concrete wedge/foundation). I thought the support with cobblestones would not be sufficient for driving on the pavement.

The loads are transferred through the foundation. Whether single row or curb.

Single row: is a row of paving stones,

Whatever cobblestones were supposed to support – I still see my questions unanswered.
