Hello

one more thing: you had to do a lot of backfilling before building the house. Wouldn't a basement have been only slightly more expensive?

Hello KingSong

3° incline towards the house. The bird has a sense of humor. What is that supposed to achieve?
You want to dig the foundation anyway. Just pour 20 cm of RCL. That should be more than enough to break capillary action. Then another 40 cm of concrete. And whether you mix lean concrete (1:5) or concrete (1:3) shouldn't really matter. Saving 200 euros on cement for such an object doesn't make sense.
I also had to create a foundation here. About 22 meters, 90 cm deep (I'm just a safety fanatic). Estimate was 12,500 euros. Then I did it myself (including someone who could operate a mini excavator). It cost me a total of 3,500 euros. And it'll last until the next Stone Age.

The consideration was there, but the entire house is on a slope; at the entrance door of the extension (still visible in the photo) we are only 1m above ground level, the rest of the house is even cut 40cm into the ground. A basement with a floor area of 200m² would have been completely disproportionate and we don’t really need a basement.

With all the thoughts about the foundation: don't forget the drainage...

Hello , your house is built significantly higher. How did you fill underneath your house or what kind of foundation is underneath? Can you also say something about the costs of the foundation? Thank you very much in advance.

The foundation for the house is exclusively frost protection gravel, compacted in layers. The minimum depth above the former ground is 1m, due to the slope we are about 2.40m deep at the lowest point. The entire earthworks including drainage and everything involved cost us €24,000.
