Hello everyone,

I would be interested in your opinions on the above-mentioned topic. We looked at a plot of land that seems quite good in terms of price, size, and location. The only downside is that it is quite overgrown. There also appear to be large, massive trees on it. The plot is about 1300 sqm. Has anyone had experience with clearing etc. and can give a price estimate? Of course, that depends on the vegetation in general and cannot be said so generally, but maybe someone has bought a plot of land that was extremely overgrown with trees and shrubs.

Apart from the trees, I can dig out the shrubs myself and save a bit of money, right? I'm pretty strong

Chainsaw and clear everything yourself... most of the root system can be handled by the excavator during the excavation of the paths and the house. Of course, remove smaller roots yourself.

Our property is 520 sqm in size and was completely overgrown with blackberry bushes, some of which were 3-4 meters high and had branches almost as thick as a forearm. We paid 100 euros to a contractor who first flattened everything with a tractor and a mulcher. The rest was then disposed of by the earthworks contractor, which cost about 1000 euros (disposal partly of topsoil). But trees are of course something different - the earthworks contractor will also charge extra depending on the size.

Urgently compare prices.. we had differences of 400% (also had trees and a greenhouse). You can also get the construction road done at the same time.

Are trees allowed to be felled and are they not protected?

With a bit of luck, you'll find someone who will cut down the trees for you and only wants the wood in return. If you, of course, want a fireplace yourself, I would think twice about it. It also always depends on the wood.
