Cleaning high, hard-to-reach skylight gallery?

Dear incompetent official: if you point out a problem here that shouldn’t exist at all with good planning, a good way is to take the planning into your own hands and plan the error away. If you’re not willing to fix the cause, then live with the error and express yourself clearly to the one who suggests something to you here. And if not, then live with the flaw or stick to the last post by

Hello : So here in the forum there is always a completely unnecessary sharpness included. And in every third post, a questioner is scolded or picked on by a "professional"... really makes you want to ask questions here.

I'll just start with a bit of background, I'm up for it:

In your first post you wrote "Because the airspace can't be that huge." Why can it not be that way? Is this my house or yours now? If I say it, having measured it from my plan, why do you then question it? If you don’t believe me or can’t imagine it, then don’t answer my question instead of simply doubting my statement.

"Did we imagine that." It’s quite simple. We have two windows over the airspace in our floor plan... we basically want them there (= so we imagined), and then there is the question of cleaning... nothing more, nothing less. I don’t even know what there is to discuss. So it’s also not “not planning out a mistake,” because quite simply: either you make the windows (and consider the cleaning tips sufficient) or you do not consider them good enough and remove them from the plan again. There’s nothing more to say about it either, I don’t have to be told that I am not interested in fixing the cause. Because then I could just leave the windows out, the problem wouldn’t arise, but I would lose a visual highlight that is important to me and could save myself this post here. So I do not want to fix the cause (i.e. the roof windows in the gallery), but look for an adequate solution. But my initial question has actually already implied that, so spare me accusing me of a lack of interest in the cause of the problem. Because leaving out the windows, thus preventing the problem from arising in the first place, I would have thought of that even without your professional comment. Many thanks.

Clearly articulate? Strangely, 8 people understood and interpreted my post correctly and simply proposed a neutral opinion and/or solution. If you can’t get it together, that’s your problem and not my problem of articulation.

Oh yes, and one more sentence to : You don’t always have to attach a plan right away (I just didn’t have one handy) to ask for a solution to cleaning the window. Do you have a high roof window = yes = then give me a tip. Don’t have one = then spare me and yourself the time and best not answer.

I’m the last person to be looking for trouble, but no one wants to ask a normal, maybe somewhat awkward question anymore here when they are always lectured by the know-it-alls instead of simply answering the easy question.

So I close my lecture and EXPRESSLY THANK THE MANY NICE RESPONDERS WHO JUST SHARED THEIR EXPERIENCE AND ALSO HAD A TIP. THANK YOU THANK YOU, you keep the forum running, not the top gurus. That much is certain.

Herewith, I now simultaneously log off. Have fun.

That probably means: You don’t even know yourself why you prefer the more tedious way over the more successful one. Although it is hardly calculable how many more useful answers you could have thanked for. But I also find it nice on behalf of the readers if the questioners keep the popcorn value of their posts in mind.

With this attitude, it is like casting pearls before swine to go to a forum whose community could show you third and fourth ways (even if you contributed nothing more than providing the basics).

I professionally advise building owners as well. I would have to starve starting on the second of the month if I could only draw from solved problems in my own dwelling. Are unmarried divorce lawyers incompetent? (and Catholic priests even more so, they never dare to marry themselves).

Exactly what Yvonne meant: if you’re just here for fun, then say upfront that you don’t want advice without at least the price of your own contribution. That saves all of us time. Like on real estate portals, when the agent first wants to test how to upload his listings: just write “test” in the headline. “Please move on, there is nothing to help here.” DBDDHKP, my (great) grandmother used to say.

Same to you, probably going further into the green (but beware: we are there too, me like here and Yvonne under another name; and in addition to the “Pforzheimer” also various Beavis & Butt Heads who stay out of it here).

Many willing helpers also remain silent readers forever because the advisers are lectured by those who forget the basics (without -innen, because the ladies also forget sometimes but don’t lash out when you point it out) :-(
Some questions would actually be easy to answer if the clarifications of the situation were always provided immediately. Without setting the picture, one can only help to a limited extent. But at least you thank for it anyway. So farewell!
