City villa window front - plenty of air space and travel windows!

The annoying thing about such special requests is often that nobody builds them as standard and it usually doesn't work out. Oversized blinds probably warp already under their own weight, I could imagine. If you want something like that, I definitely don't turn to my [GU (o.ä.)] but to a company that constantly builds huge glass fronts.

And if you plan something like that, definitely share it (but I guess it probably doesn't work any other way due to the size). Not that you always have to open or close the entire front. But I agree completely with kaho, a professional probably needs to handle that - and the general contractor who implements it for the first time will certainly not have any fun with it!

You don't even have to be able to open it, it just has to be fixed. And if there's a thick metal crossbar inside, that doesn't bother us either. But this way, I think it looks like it was intended but not well done... Just two windows built on top of each other, anyone can do that.

There are other houses where it works, my example is from Roth Massivhaus and it’s not a luxury villa either...

So a window as desired is not a big magic trick. On the other hand: where there would be an opaque "belt," no one looks through anyway - neither from above (except maybe if you put your desk on the gallery), nor from below (except with a stiff neck as a consequence).

Incidentally, I think this cathedral-like room feeling for the breakfast table is overrated.

One should also not completely overlook what such a two-story room does to the air movements in the house - not least concerning sound transmission.

Yes, that's right, no one really understands it, it's just about the appearance. Well, we don't need to start a fundamental discussion now. Of course, it's not everyone's taste to have everything so open, but we like it spacious and bright, and maybe there's a little bit of conservatory flair too. The house is supposed to look a bit special, and such a glass surface really makes more of an impact...

Sorry, I probably expressed that unclearly. I meant the shading that should be shared! That such glass surfaces are fixed was (to me) actually obvious!
