Hello dear community,

after having already received good advice here in the forum regarding an assessment for building a single-family house, I now have another question about Baukindergeld:

My family and I bought a condominium this year. We have been living in it for several years, the previous owner wanted to sell, and the price was fair. It is our first property.

Basically, we meet the criteria and could apply for Baukindergeld.

However, it is likely that we will either sell (preferred) or rent out the apartment next year, at the latest the year after, since we want to buy a plot of land this year and build a house there.

Now you see my dilemma. If I understand the parameters of Baukindergeld correctly, I can only apply for the apartment and only for the time we live in the apartment ourselves (which probably means 2 installments of 1,200 euros each).
Do you see an alternative here? Of course, we would like to claim the full 12,000 euros.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask at any time.

Best regards and thanks in advance!

Besides, you have been living there for several years, as you yourself write. You must have registered there with your application, corrected me if the one-month deadline is wrong, at the latest six months after moving in. Anyone could just come who firmly buys his rental apartment, collects the premium, and then sells it again....

Sorry, maybe I was unclear: does anyone see a possibility that I apply for the child benefit for my house that is yet to be built, and not for the apartment? I think it is not possible, but maybe someone has advice.

The part you marked does not apply to me in my opinion, but the paragraph further down, where it says, ..."purchase of a rented apartment"...

Best regards

Are you not generally above the income limit for the [Baukindergeld]? (see your other thread)

Now I am definitely above it, but the previous years are taken as the basis, where with our taxable income (I am assessed together with my wife) I was just below it. What annoys me now is that we can probably only claim it for 2 years.
