Has anyone ever statically calculated the shoring (Berliner Verbau)? After all, there is a building behind it.

Quite bold to build something like that. In my opinion, 70 cm is never enough to withstand the loads from earth pressure and the building. How were the supports installed? How far apart are the supports? How thick are the planks? What is the support dimension?

... Well, that would be funny if the "wall" were supposed to hold the house. Well, I'm not that stupid... The house is supported by a huge separate wall... And then there are two huge foundations that carry the supports of the future parking deck. So THIS wall only collapses the natural slope that has now been slightly filled in. The dimensions of the h beams and planks have already been described. Best regards

How deep is the mentioned separate wall of the neighbor? To eliminate the earth pressure, it must extend down to the lower edge of your shoring. Was the company aware that you were still carrying out an excavation there?

I only noticed that you are tying in a 1.8 m high shoring by just 0.7 m. In my opinion, that cannot be sufficient.

I couldn't sleep peacefully with that.

If YOU did not excavate, then everything is fine.

But you must prove the stability of your shoring.

It was also about doing it with one's own means and possibilities. Of course, it has to hold, but even if there is some movement, it is still the garden and targeted and trouble-free reworking is possible. Of course, you can also have it calculated and done according to all the rules of craftsmanship and with a guarantee, but then you pay many times more. I think it’s great and it doesn’t seem to be done randomly or without sense and understanding. I once did something similar myself but not as high, and it still holds today, although I was advised to build a wall with a foundation, etc., for a lot of money. If something actually gives way somewhere, you can see it... so what... then a few more pillars/supports will just be added at those points.
