Hello,
now that we have completed and moved into the new home, we are probably in the fortunate position to be able to realize a carport with a massive shed.
Since we did not expect this for financial reasons before the start of construction, we have only dealt with the topic superficially so far. I have already requested an appointment with the shell builder and do not want to go there unprepared.
To my knowledge, 9m x 6m is permit-free in Schleswig Holstein. We want to fully use the length, but we cannot use the full width.
As a length division, we are thinking of 5m for the carport and 4m for the shed.
The following questions arise for us:
1. Gable roof: Why a gable roof at all? -> Storage space for, e.g., garden furniture, car tires, etc. But we are basically open to alternatives, although I can’t really think of any. We are having difficulty with the height and the roof overhang. Preferably, both as small as possible, as long as it remains reasonable. I am 1.94 m tall and would actually like to be able to stand straight in the middle of the roof. But it is not a must if something else makes more sense. Our house is 8.50 m high and has a roof pitch of 45 degrees. So only reduce the roof pitch so far that both roofs still harmonize visually. The roof overhang should also be quite small, e.g. 30 cm?!, because otherwise the shed comes too close to the terrace door.

2. Shed material: The shed should not be insulated but should be clad. We also want a concrete slab and not paved. The most reasonable for the smallest wall thickness is probably wood, but I do not want that. So what is the alternative? We could glue Ytong ourselves, but is a different material more reasonable? Wall thickness would then probably be 17.5 cm Ytong + 11.5 cm cladding. This reduces the usable area from the 20 m2 outer dimensions to a good 17 m2 usable space.
3. Positioning:
This is roughly how we imagined it

We will probably have to “set back” the shed a bit towards the house as mentioned above. The space to the terrace door is 1.74 meters, which of course should not be fully used.
Although the house is exactly 5m away from the property boundary, the shed has to be set back because of the roof overhang if the 5m are to be realized. Does that make sense and is it understandable to you?
Probably written a bit confusingly, but I hope it is at least somewhat understandable
