If you don’t like that, I would also derive from the building elements so that it matches the shed door. I definitely wouldn’t take a "new" (= not yet present in the ensemble) color.

Do not halve! Depending on the stone, you cut a slice of 1-2 cm off on one or both sides. Otherwise, the strips become too heavy. If a HiWi/Azubi can be found to do that. As for the 11.5 stone, I had to smile a little. Our entire place is built with 11.5 sand-lime bricks. Strictly according to standards, we wouldn’t even have been allowed to chase cables here; yet it has stood for 80 years anyway.

Hihi. In my youth Crisan was recommended for this problem, I don't even know if it still exists – with Pläät that issue was resolved.
