One does not even know whether the rooms were merely filled with stuff or are really cluttered. If there are boxes and furniture there, that is okay, right? It is different if residual waste has been thrown in there for years.

You are right. I will definitely arrange an inspection appointment and take a good look inside. Even if in the end it might become uninteresting for us due to all the legal requirements.

Here is a small update:

The house is apparently just about to be sold (for the requested €550,000) to another family who then want to use it 100% privately. The building authority has apparently agreed to this as well.

According to the real estate agent, the potential buyers want to clear the garden without consulting the nature conservation office and convert it into a normal lawn area with a regular fence, etc. "The authorities don't pay attention to that. They are so overwhelmed. In practice, nobody cares." The agent and buyers seem to be okay with this.

I find all of this somewhat very suspicious.

You might not care The penalties for such actions are enormous. But I would be the anonymous rooster.

The realtor was already suspicious anyway. Inheritance communities are fundamentally suspicious.
Thank you for your information.

Typical Germany. That wouldn't even occur to me as a civil servant.
