Hello everyone,
I need your help with the decision on the topic
"Burglary protection windows (1.01m x 1.37m) + floor-to-ceiling window (2.01m x 2.37m north side)".
The windows are in the basement room on the north side. The basement is waterproofed, unheated utility basement with 2.5m height.

I am thinking of:
- Aluminum electric shutters: not 100% protection. For all other windows on the ground floor and upper floor I have shutters.
- Window bars: better protection, worse thermal insulation. For the floor-to-ceiling window I have also seen lockable bars (like a gate).

I believe that the price difference is not significant.

What would you recommend to me?
Thank you very much and I wish you a nice weekend.

Normal windows and roller shutters. Personally, I consider more to be unnecessary. Break-ins happen anyway through open windows or similar. I would rather spend my money on nice or useful things.

Who wants to get in there, gets in there, no matter which class you take, it probably just takes a few seconds longer.

The longer it takes to get in, the less likely the break-in is. You have to be a tougher target than the neighbors. Motion detectors with lighting help a lot. A camera with lighting (e.g. Arlo) and you will be notified immediately if something happens there. Even better, a dog (regardless of size. The chance of detection is too great...) Windows in RC3 wouldn't be bad.

Simply wall it up. It's safer.

But seriously, bars are prison. I wouldn't confine myself like that for the low probability that a bad guy wants to get in. Do RC2N dh. better lever protection and that's it.
