Negative equity because the current remaining balance on your car loan exceeds your 15k. Or not? Otherwise, yes, in your specific case the question doesn’t arise whether to stay at home or work after the child. But even with part-time work and child benefits, there is no longer 4,500€. I just want to make you aware if one or more children are there. Everyone else seems to be positive about it. Sorry, I’m not! But I am always conservative in this regard.

She did write that she always paid for the cars in cash and that's why the available equity was gone again and again.

The available 15k is supposed to be spent on the upcoming wedding.

Men.... :P

In addition, she now has the opportunity to buy something, she now has the necessary money and does not have a child and doesn't even know if she even wants one... Should she now wait 4-5 years until the child is born and only then buy? And if no child comes? Then the salaries won't be higher either and the house will certainly be considerably more expensive just like the high interest rates probably, so now is actually the best time. Until the child, she can still save to balance it out

A car loan. The other car paid in cash.

Exactly, these are also our considerations.

Oh God, the 240 euros don't really matter..

You can also exaggerate with penny-pinching.

If it were about 450k now, I would act differently.

But as it is, I still see no reason why the house can't be bought.
