Matter of opinion. In a semi-detached house, which usually isn't very wide, I wouldn't voluntarily give away +/-10cm. Of course, it depends on the wall construction. But the question only arises if the house stands empty over a winter.

Small example from practice: Semi-detached house 1 builds first and too high. The district office considers a reduction to be disproportionate. Semi-detached house 2 is not allowed to build as high, they have to lower the roof at great expense, profile uniformity was abolished -> additional costs for semi-detached house 2. It is always better if the semi-detached houses are built together or if there is an agreement between the future neighbors in advance.

Hello,

I’m afraid I have comprehension problems...

How can a lower roof pitch be more expensive? The first semi-detached house partner must take care of insulating the exposed masonry themselves

Rhenish greetings

It is not the roof pitch that is different, but the overall height with the same angle of the gable roof. As a result, dhh2 had to install transition rails, finishing stones, ETC. This cost the client several thousand euros, as if the roof had continued. This was only meant to be an example of what can happen with 2 providers.

Hello,

I have already understood that, but

I consider that a rumor. Either the homeowners of the 2nd semi-detached house were taken advantage of, or they are not being entirely truthful. The only additional costs for the 2nd party in such a case are those of having to bear the costs of an additional verge. By no means does that amount to several thousand euros.

The far greater burden is borne by partner 1; he has to insulate the exposed outer wall – provided that is even possible without having to bear building obligations.

Rhenish regards
