Only partly. For some things, I would admit to being naive. But largely, these were not intended improvements, but simply necessary ones to not completely blow the budget. We had generously estimated the digging at 20k according to the soil report. Too bad we had to go deeper elsewhere than expected. District heating station... who would have guessed that we would only find one installer willing to install the unit for us. Of course, he brazenly raised the price. By the way, before signing the contract, 3 installers had responded positively to my preliminary inquiries. Only one actually got serious about it. Roof change... we trusted the planner’s expertise, who initially told us that the originally planned roof would be possible. But yes, theoretically, we could have delved even deeper into the matter. But at some point, you have to draw the line. Otherwise, I could have just planned the house myself. @OP: That sounds good. But I would (speaking from experience) cautiously add some extra money on top of the amount. Just to be safe. Not intended as a buffer, but as firmly allocated material costs.
