Budget comparison experiences

Hi,

I had 10K€ to burn, but then came
- Extra charge for stairs (white ash instead of beech, 2K€)
- Bathroom (>5K€)
- Tiles were more expensive
- Busch Jäger doorbell with video and remote access
- 66 LED recessed spotlights plus dimmer (all in the distribution) >2K€
- Electrical... Wow, that hit hard. Home automation, sockets, etc.
- I totally forgot the satellite dish!
- Kitchen, painter, flooring, earth removal, paving work – all more expensive than planned and than the cost estimate. At some point I started adding 10% on top of the estimate.

In the end, about 30K€ extra must have been spent. Without the garden.

We sampled many things before signing the contract and are doing quite well. We received a list with 2-5 companies per trade, which we visited and sampled. We were lucky with the tiles and got nice 80x80cm ones for €30/m². For the higher installation effort, an additional €11/m² applies. Staircase oak knotted and stainless steel rods approx. €2800 (2 floors). [Raffstore im Süden, geflieste Dusche etc.] was already included in the original offer, so I can’t say. Front door up to €4500 was also already included in the first offer. Second frost-proof outdoor faucet €280. We will do sanitary fixtures in front of the wall ourselves after the disappointing sanitary sampling. I would simply set as much as possible roughly in advance, then there will be no unexpected amounts.
